Foster Parents Night Out & Kids Day Out (KiDO)
Our Kids' Day Out (KiDO) and Foster Parents Night Out (FPNO) programs allow our student volunteers to learn through community service, our caretakers to get a much-deserved chance to be rejuvenated, and kiddos to have a blast!
This is a win/win/win! Not only do kids need to have fun with more trusted and regulated grown-ups, the parents of children with disabilities and resource parents of kids in foster care lack consistent breaks to rest and recuperate from their demanding roles. It's not easy to find trusted, vetted and trained volunteers. Finally, it offers Fox students trauma-informed training on creating safe, healing and fun environments for kids who go through a lot.
Kids' Day Out is a fun, safe and engaging respite care opportunity for kids aged 3-13 with differing kinds of disabilities. It's three hours of adaptable, child-led play with sensory-safe spaces and snacks.
We are always looking for more volunteers to show compassionate hospitality to our guests through intentional presence and play! Whether you want to facilitate games, activities, or crafts – or wish to be a buddy – all skillsets are welcome and needed! To sign up as a volunteer, apply here ...

Similarly, Foster Parents Night Out (FPNO) is our monthly celebration of kids in care that gives trauma-informed, vetted and trained Fox students the opportunity to learn through community service, all while kids have a blast and resource parents get several hours off for self-care.
We're always looking for more volunteers to assist with games, food prep, crafts, safety/security, nursery, playground activities and more. All skill levels and interests are welcome and needed, as long as you geninuinely care about these precious kiddos!
