Debra Espinor

Debby Espinor joined the ÄÛ²ÝÊÓÆµ Fox University College of Education in 2010, bringing over four decades of experience as a practitioner, administrator and scholar. Currently serving as an associate professor, she facilitates doctoral-level growth within the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (EDDL).

Professional Impact

During her tenure at ÄÛ²ÝÊÓÆµ Fox, Espinor has held several pivotal leadership roles, including chair and director of the elementary education program. A champion for innovation, she served as co-director of the Digital Fluency Initiative and has contributed her expertise across disciplines by teaching within the College of Business’s doctoral program.

Prior to ÄÛ²ÝÊÓÆµ Fox, Espinor spent nine years at Seattle Pacific University, specializing in the psychological and foundational pillars of education. Her higher education career is built upon a 20-year foundation at Heritage Private School in Bothell, Washington, where she concluded her service with a seven-year tenure as elementary principal.

Current Projects & Research

Espinor is currently engaged in several high-impact initiatives that bridge the gap between emerging technology and human-centric pedagogy:

  • AI and Spirituality: Investigating the ethical and soulful implications of Artificial Intelligence in faith-based educational contexts
  • The Theology of Vocation: Expanding on Faith Development Theory to explore how "calling" influences modern educator retention and satisfaction
  • Digital Pedagogy: Refining co-teaching and clinical practicum models to better serve international and diverse student populations
