Diversity at ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox
We believe that everyone – regardless of race, gender, physical ability, socioeconomic status or faith background – is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. A community rich in diverse backgrounds, perspectives, life experiences, and cultures is a welcome resource.
We are dedicated to addressing issues of access and success, campus climate, educational mission and our institutional vitality.
Cultural Engagement
At ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox, we believe race and ethnicity should be celebrated. In order to support our students’ unique cultures and traditions, we provide the following resources.
Intercultural Resource Center
The Intercultural Resource Center (IRC) exists to serve all students by creating and sustaining an active and engaging intercultural campus life. Students can explore multicultural clubs, participate in events that celebrate international culture and traditions, and engage with others in community.
Beacon Transfer Scholarship & Multicultural Leadership Scholarship
Every year, we provide thousands of dollars in multicultural and first-generation scholarships. This includes the Beacon Transfer Scholarship, an initiative that provides first-generation and underserved populations an opportunity to continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree at ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox after completing an associate degree at a community college in Oregon or Washington.
Community Conferences
ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox has hosted several conferences in recent years that celebrate diversity, culture and community. In 2025, we hosted the Shalom Summit, a conference that emphasized worship, prayer and community voices to find peace and connection in a divided world.
We also host the annual Woolman Peacemaking Forum, which emphasizes our Quaker heritage and the importance of justice. In recent years, our keynote speakers have included diverse voices of pastors, artists, philanthropic leaders, government officials and more.
Faith Diversity
Our identity as a Christian college affects everything we do, both inside and outside the classroom.
We are a vibrant community of students, staff and faculty from a rich variety of denominations and faith traditions. While 100% of ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox employees have a personal faith commitment, students are not required to sign a faith agreement, although they must sign a lifestyle agreement to apply to the university.

We intentionally root our learning, experiences and campus communities in the Christian faith and meaningful connection. In doing so, we warmly invite all students into our community, regardless of where they are on their personal faith journey.
The majority of our student body represents various Christian traditions, including Protestant and Catholic backgrounds. For some students, this environment offers their very first experience with Christianity; for others, it’s a continuation of a lifelong faith. Wherever you are on your path, you are welcome here.

First-Generation Student Support
We offer first-generation support to students whose parents or family members did not attend college. Our office in the Intercultural Resource Center provides resources and support to students in the first-gen community.
We also sponsor the LEAD (Learn, Engage, Achieve, Develop) mentor program, where first-generation students are mentored by junior and senior students. This is an opportunity to get guidance and connection from your community.

Veterans and Families
We appreciate your service and your family members’ service to our country, and offer resources for veterans and their dependents. ÄÛ²ÝÊÓƵ Fox is a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program, for which no application is necessary (we evaluate with a certifying official).
